General Terms and Conditions for the Booking of Conferences and Seminars, Live and Digital
Scope of application The following General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between the Participant in seminars, courses and conferences, live and digital (hereinafter referred to as "Event") and Dähne Verlag GmbH. Any deviating General Terms and Conditions of the Participant shall not apply.
Registration/registration confirmation You can only register via the Internet. The registration becomes legally binding with our written confirmation.
Service The participation fee is per person and event date plus statutory VAT. It includes conference documents as well as lunch and drinks during breaks at live events. Dähne Verlag GmbH reserves the right to replace announced speakers with others and to make necessary changes to the event programme while maintaining the overall character of the event. If it is not possible to hold the event due to force majeure, the inability of a speaker to attend, disruptions at the event venue or insufficient numbers of participants, the participants will be informed immediately. Cancellation due to an insufficient number of participants will be made no later than 2 weeks before the event. The event fee will be refunded in such cases. If you are a trader and the cancellation is due to force majeure, any event fee already paid will not be refunded. A claim for compensation for travel and accommodation costs as well as loss of working hours is excluded, unless such costs are incurred due to grossly negligent or wilful behaviour on the part of Dähne Verlag GmbH. Dähne Verlag GmbH undertakes to make every reasonable effort to contribute to the elimination or limitation of any disruptions in performance that may occur. Claims for reimbursement by a Participant due to merely temporary disruptions of an event (especially in the case of digital events) are excluded.
Additional services As a congress participant, you will receive password-protected PLUS access to www.petonline.de free of charge from 1 July to 31 December of the year of the event at the earliest. The offer ends automatically. You will receive the access information by e-mail from Dähne Verlag GmbH. You can of course cancel this free service at any time. Any existing pet subscription with PLUS access cannot be offset.
Due date and payment, default, offsetting The participation fee is due 14 days after invoicing. The invoice shall be issued by Hinte Expo & Conference GmbH, Karlsruhe, on behalf of Dähne Verlag GmbH. If the Participant defaults on payment, Dähne Verlag GmbH shall be entitled to charge interest on arrears at a rate of 5% above the base interest rate (§ 247 (1), § 288 (1) BGB) per annum. If Dähne Verlag GmbH can prove higher damages caused by default, these can be claimed. In the same way, the Participant is entitled to prove that no damage has occurred at all or that the damage is significantly lower than claimed by Dähne Verlag GmbH. Payment shall be made at the Customer's discretion by direct debit, bank transfer, Paypal or credit card. Dähne Verlag GmbH and Hinte Expo & Conference GmbH reserve the right to exclude certain payment methods in individual cases. Payment by sending cash or cheques is not possible; Dähne Verlag GmbH accepts no liability for loss. The Participant may only offset claims that have been legally established or recognised in writing by Dähne Verlag GmbH. The Participant is only authorised to exercise a right of retention to the extent that his counterclaim is based on the same contractual relationship.
Cancellation For cancellations up to ten weeks before the date of the event, Dähne Verlag GmbH will charge 50% of the registration fee as a cancellation fee. After this date or in the event of a no-show, 100 % of the registration fee will be charged. Dähne Verlag GmbH will gladly accept a substitute participant at no additional cost. Alternatively, we will issue you on request with a voucher for the amount of the registration fee, which can be credited towards another Dähne Verlag GmbH event. The voucher must be redeemed by the end of the third year following the year in which the voucher was issued.
Copyright All conference documents for our events are protected by copyright. Participants are only granted a simple, non-transferable right of use for personal use. In particular, participants and third parties are not permitted to change the content or editing of the conference documents – even in part – or to use modified versions, to copy them for third parties, to make them publicly accessible or forward them, to post them on the Internet or other networks for a fee or free of charge, to imitate them, resell them or use them for commercial purposes. Any copyright notices, labelling or trademarks may not be removed. All of the aforementioned provisions of this Section 6 also apply to the video and audio recording of the event itself.
Liability The events are carefully prepared and organised by qualified speakers. Dähne Verlag GmbH accepts no liability for the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the conference documents and the organisation of the event.
Applicable law, place of jurisdiction and place of fulfilment German law shall apply to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. To the extent permitted by law, Karlsruhe (Germany) is agreed as the place of fulfilment and jurisdiction.
Right of cancellation for consumers Participants whose registration cannot be attributed to their commercial or independent professional activity (§ 13 German Civil Code) have the right to cancel their registration in writing within 14 days of receipt of the registration confirmation without giving reasons. Cancellation fees will not be charged. Timely dispatch of the cancellation to the following address is sufficient to meet the deadline:

This right of cancellation expires prematurely if the booked event has taken place and the participant has taken part in it.
